A three-vehicle collision caused considerable traffic delays on the M5 motorway through Somerset this afternoon.
Heavy congestion built up on the northbound carriageway between junction 25 (the A358 to Taunton) and junction 24 (the A38 for Bridgwater South) at around 2pm today.
The incident, which blocked two lanes of the motorway, was cleared shortly before 3pm.
But traffic continued to be heavy throughout the afternoon, with the average speed down to 10mph at times and half an hour added to journey times.
There was further congestion on the A358 Toneway to the A38 Bridgwater Road junction due to the build-up in traffic.
