Police in North Somerset are trying to find the owner of a large bible containing letters that are around 150 years old.

The leather-bound bible, which measures one foot by nine inches, was handed in to Avon and Somerset Police after it was found in Roath Road, Portishead.

Officers said two old letters were found inside the bible - one is a letter in old script, and the other a document about the death of a Mr and Mrs Millburn in the 1860s.

If you know who the bible belongs to, contact Portishead office clerk Andrea Maston on the force's non-emergency number 101.
