- RISING classical music star Rebecca Newman is set to perform at The Playhouse Theatre as she prepares to launch her first UK chart single.
Rebecca Newman is embarking on her Coast to Coast UK Tour which brings her to Weston-super-Mare next month (November) where she is joined by the Great Western Chorus in a moving and entertaining evening of music.
As well as showcasing her exceptional Soprano talent, Rebecca's tour will help to raise valuable funds towards the lifesaving sea rescue charity, the Weston RNLI.
With her beautiful voice and down to earth nature Rebecca Newman is rapidly building a loyal support base both in the UK and overseas.
Having sung at famous and imposing venues like The Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty's Theatre, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Headingley Stadium, Rebecca is an experienced and highly talented performer who can bring a touch of star quality to any event.
She has appeared on both ITV1 and BBC One, and is regularly heard on BBC radio, where Adam Thomlinson has stated Rebecca is "Easily one of the best voices around."
Rebecca's first "chart eligible" debut single created with James Fitzpatrick (Lesley Garrett's producer) and Paul Bateman (Sarah Brightman's musical director) is released on November 19 and is a classical Italian version of My Heart Will Go On, "Il Mio Cuore Va" featuring the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Audiences can hear the song first hand a week prior to its official UK chart launch along with many other tracks from her various CDs.
Rebecca began her musical journey at the age of 14, when she played Julie Jordan in 'Carousel', at Exmouth Pavilion and using wages she made washing dishes in a pub kitchen, she began singing training with a local teacher, Mary Burman, with whom she passed her singing grades 5, 7 and 8.
She secured her first paid booking at 15 and during her teenage years she took part in school productions of Guys and Dolls and The Tempest, and shows in the local area including Puss in Boots, Merrie England and various concerts, including performing at The Royal Albert Hall with her local theatre group Centre Stage.
Rebeccca's biggest achievement was when she auditioned for the National Youth Music Theatre and won a place in their production of Warchild, when she was 15. Very few people from her school had achieved this and it stood her apart from her contemporaries as someone on a path to the top of her game with a very bright future ahead.
Rebecca Newman will be at the Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare, on Sunday 11 November at 7pm. Tickets, priced at £14.50, £13 concessions are available on 01934 645 544 or online at http://tinyurl.com/ckzqxvr For further details see http://tinyurl.com/6bkc46j
