Three fire engines from Cheddar, Burnham and Avon FRS Winscombe were called to attend a building fire at Badgworth yesterday morning.

The caller stated the dishwasher was on fire. Avon Fire and Rescue also called for a further appliance from Weston-super-Mare.

On arrival crews reported smoke issuing from a bungalow at 9.47am.

Crews were using four Breathing Apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to rid the property of smoke.

One female casualty was in the hands of the Ambulance Service.
