Police are appealing for the public's help after an abandoned car believed to have been involved in a collision was found at Cheddar Gorge in Somerset.
Members of the public called police in the early hours of Sunday December 1, after a blue Fiat was found abandoned in Cliff Road, close to Range Post and the turning to Charter House.
Charlotte Lock, who is investigating the incident, said: "We have several reports from members of the public reporting an abandoned car left in the middle of the road, which appears to have been involved in a collision.
"Although we received several reports about the abandoned car, I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this car being driven in the Cheddar Gorge area between 11pm on Saturday November 30 and 1.30am on Sunday December 1.
"I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen a person or people in or around the car in the area of Cliff Road.
"A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the collision and have been released on bail while we carry out further enquiries."
