“Local charity holds puppet nativity
Local charity Hop Skip & Jump South West (HSJ) based in Kingswood, Bristol held a puppet nativity on Thursday 20th December in Bristol. The “Incredibles” puppet group put on a wonderful nativity play with the children dressing up and some taking part.
The children enjoyed the play and then at the Christmas party were overjoyed to see our surprise guest Father Christmas. As soon as he arrived everyone loved it and all went running towards him as he walked in ringing a bell!
Father Christmas handed over presents to all the children to unwrap and spoke to all of them about their Christmas wishes. Then Sue Finch, HSJ Centre Manager, said ‘We are delighted to be able to celebrate with all our children and their families; it was lovely to see them interacting with the puppets and the excitement on their faces when Father Christmas arrived as well as singing Christmas carols’
HSJ South West’s aim is simple: to provide unique, flexible, supervised and vital respite day care for children and adults with a disability, life threatening illness, or any additional need, however complex. This facility is open to parents and carers throughout the South West including Somerset. HSJ gives their dependents the opportunity to build confidence, social skills and self-esteem whilst providing parents and carers to have a well-earned break, or time off to allow them to undertake paid employment.”
