THE following cases have been heard at Sedgemoor Magistrates' Court in Bridgwater:

Christopher Nigel John Godbeer, 22, of Monmouth Street in Bridgwater was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. Fined £80, ordered to pay £100 costs.

Sam John Prowse, 21, of Edinburgh Road, Bridgwater, charged with possession of cannabis. Given a community order and made to attend meeting with a probation officer for 12 months. Ordered to pay £80 costs.

Darren Jason Morris, 38, of Waverly Road in Bridgwater was found guilty of assault by beating and committing another crime while subject to conditional discharge. Sentenced to four weeks in prison with immediate effect.

Paul Anton Harry Capey, 20, of Longstone Avenue, Bridgwater, charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. Fined £200, ordered to pay £100 and banned from driving for 12 months.

Faith Leigh Chandler, 38, of Worthy Crescent in Lympsham, was found guilty of using threatening, insulting or abusive words in Bridgwater. Given a community order and forced to carry out 40 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £85 court costs.

Matthew Lance Mills, 21, of Kings Square in Bridgwater was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. Fined £95, ordered to pay £100 costs.

Patrick Moskalewicz, 24, of Bath Road in Bridgwater, charged with driving while disqualified without insurance and a test certificate. Imprisoned for eight weeks with immediate effect.

Mindaugas Pocius, 24, of Essex, charged and found guilty of stealing 17 bottles of Smirnoff Vodka and six bottle of champagne from Somerfield in Huntworth. Given a community order and told to carry out 120 hours of community service within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £85 court costs.

Caroline Jane Gibbs, 34, of Charolais Drive in Bridgwater, found guilty of failing to notify the Department of Work and Pensions whn her circumstances changed which would effect her benefits. Fined £75, ordered to pay £110 costs.

Michael Leslie John Cowlin, 35, of Bath Road in Bridgwater, charged with assaulting a police officer, attempted theft of a car and using offensive, threatening or abusive words. Sentenced to 120 days in prison.

Terry James Brimble, 24, of Elmhurst Road in Weston-super-Mare, was charged with assault by battery in Bridgwater. Given a community order and told to carry out 200 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £30 compensation and £200 court costs.

Janet Stephens, 43, of Lakeside Caravan Park in Taunton Road, Bridgwater, charged with shoplifting various meat products from Asda in Bridgwater worth £94.96 and failing to surrender to the police. Given a community order and placed under curfew for three months. Ordered to attend meetings with a Sedgemoor probation office regularly. Made to pay £30 court costs.

Benjamin Ashley, 23, of Dukes Mead in Bridgwater, charged with assault by beating, criminal damage to a property, driving while disqualified and without insurance. Given an electronic monitoring of community service sentence and a 90-day prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. Under a curfew for 56 days, ordered to pay £100 compensation and £500 costs.
