The Art Tree

See the gallery - beautiful place!

“The Art Tree is a gallery come shop come multifunctional 'space' in which all manner of things happen. I recently attended a workshop there as part of the digital arts festival, and until then had often wondered just how much space there was. It turned out that the Art Tree is deceptively large and made for a comfortable and beautifully creatively conducive setting. Not all the art, by it's very definition, is for everyone. I did however, on my limited budget, by a card for my sister. They might seem costly if you compare them to a discount one bought from a supermarket but not so much if you compare if to Hallmark, or even the likes of 'Moon pig' online). The point was though, that it was clearly hand made, and very nicely, and that meant the absolute world to her. A recommended place to visit, chat, view and of course, preferably, buy!”

Another one of those places you really should visit

The Art Tree has lots of nice things on display from impulse purchases to acquisitions you might need to ponder over a little longer (if not financially, in terms of space planning!). What I love about the Art Tree is that there is true passion here. Each of the few times I have been in (including the lovely opening event) I have been able to chat with interesting people. Artists man the gallery so on one occasion I went in, the lady I spoke to (I forget her name) was displaying/selling work of her own and we ended up chatting about all sorts - nothing to do with why I went in, although I did get what I went for. Isabel who runs the gallery said she set out to inspire people, and she is certainly succeeding. This type of shop is what has helped Shepton become nicer over the past few years.

Why not try?
