Two adults and small child rescued from roof of 4x4 stranded in flood water

Three people were left clinging to the roof of their 4x4 after becoming trapped in flood water in North Curry last night.

Rescue teams were called out to New Road at around 8.15pm after receiving reports that two adults and a child were on the roof of their vehicle which was stranded in fast flowing water.

Fire crews from Taunton were joined at the scene by a specialist water rescue team from Bridgwater.

The rescue team used a boat to reach the three people and take them to dry land unharmed.
