A new chief finance and commercial officer has been appointed at Yeovil District Hospital.
Tim Newman replaces Pippa Moger who became the interim officer after Libby Walters left in August last year.
Mr Newman is joining the hospital from Fitness First, a leading international operator of health and fitness clubs, where he was UK finance director and a member of the executive team with responsibility for finance, audit, IT and legal services.
He has also had experience of leading the procurement and property functions at this organisation.
He said: "I am thrilled to be joining the trust in early February at such an exciting time in its development, and look forward to learning about the work of the hospital."
Prior to Fitness First, Mr Newman was chief financial officer of the market research division of United News and Media, the global medial and financial services business. Previously he was group treasurer at Hammerson plc, a global property company.
Paul Mears, chief executive of Yeovil hospital, said: "Tim not only has an impressive background as an executive director in global companies but also a strong commercial and financial track record.
"His skills will be a considerable asset to our organisation and the board is extremely pleased to have attracted a candidate such as Tim to this new post."
