Yate led three times but in the end had to settle for a point after conceding goals right at the end of each half in Calor League Division One South & West.

Leading scoring Lewis Haldane emerged from a lean spell in recent weeks to put Yate in front on 29 minutes when he scored directly from a free kick.

The home side drew level right on the stroke of half time when Sam Griffin got clear to curl in the equaliser.

Ross Staley had only just replaced Jake Cox after 48 minutes when he put Yate 2-1 ahead after latching on to a misplaced back pass.

Wimborne hit back to level at 2-2 on the hour when George Webb drilled in Griffin's crossfield pass from 18 yards.

James Harmer and Haldane both went close as Yate went for the winner and with time running out Harmer finished well to put Yate 3-2 up.

With almost the last kick of the game Wimborne snatched a point with a late Matt Kemble penalty after a foul in the box and in the fracas that followed Yate's Mike Bryant was shown a red card.
