With the change in weather over the last few weeks our Service Engineers have been busy servicing Woodpecker boilers all around the country.
Woodpecker customers have begun to turn their boilers on for the first time since the start of the summer. In recent years British winters have become more and more gruelling, harsh and unforgiving, customers have decided to book their services in now to ensure boiler reliability over the winter. When the harsh weather sets in you will want to be cosy and warm in your home or business and booking a service early will ensure your boiler will be working to its full potential.
Every Woodpecker boiler requires a certain level of maintenance such as emptying of the ash can and cleaning of the burner at regular intervals. An annual to bi-annual service (depending on your usage) helps with the smooth running of optimal boiler function.
A Woodpecker service entails a number of checks to ensure that your boiler is functioning at full capacity. Our Woodpecker engineers will strip down and clean the burner checking the airways, ignitor and air-cleaning functionality. They will clean, remove and clean behind the combustion chamber, check the boards and turbulators, remove ash from the combustion chamber and ash cans whilst testing the de-ash augers and burner cleaning ability. Finally to keep the emissions levels low, they will remove and visually check the flue access hatches and clean out if necessary.
As well as the internal boiler parts the Woodpecker engineers will also che ck the advanced system controls; they will operate the boiler and check the ignition and operation through all power levels. Upon completion of the service they will confirm that the boiler is in good working order and leave to run on automatic mode.
The Woodpecker team have been carrying out services at a range of installations over the past few weeks. Earlier this month our engineers serviced a Woodpecker 50kW fillomatic wood pellet boiler at a farm in Wiltshire, a Woodpecker 45kW fillomatic wood pellet boiler at a domestic property in Essex, and a Woodpecker Smart 199kW commercial wood pellet boiler at breeders of live food for reptiles, in Hertfordshire. Woodpecker have additional services booked for the next month and would be delighted to carry out more to ensure all Woodpecker boilers are functioning at optimum level.
