Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike was torched in Somerton in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Firefighters from Martock were called to the blaze in Midas Court at 3.55am where they discovered the motorbike blaze has already been put out.

The police and property owner were already on scene.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing but it is believed to have been started deliberately.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were made aware of a vehicle fire at an address in Midas Court in Somerton at about 4am on Sunday.

“The fire service also attended.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time is being asked to contact the police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
