Striker Nicky Maynard has completed a loan move from Cardiff City to Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old, a prolific goalscorer in English football's second tier with Bristol City as well as the Bluebirds, has played just ten games this season, scoring once. "Nicky is at the stage of his career where he wants to play regular football," Wigan manager Uwe Rosler said. "He wants to prove a point to himself and also to the people. "That's a perfect scenario for us it matches our ambitions. We want to prove a point, we want to go up, and I think we can give him the platform to perform again."
