A 57-year-old motorcyclist from West Yorkshire died in a collision on the M5 near Cheltenham in the county last night.
The man was riding a yellow BMW motorbike when it collided with a blue Ford Mondeo between junction 10 and 11 southbound on the motorway near Chelthenham in Gloucestershire at about 6.50pm.
Gloucestershire Police have confirmed his next of kin and coroner have been informed.
The driver of the Mondeo, a woman from the Cheltenham area, was uninjured.
The road remained closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorbike travelling along this stretch of road prior to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident 422 of June 1.
