When Bristol's crack chamber choir Exultate takes to the stage at St George's in the city next March for a programme called Splendours of Venice it should rekindle a few fond memories.
The choir's only just back from an Italian tour that included singing Mass in Venice's glowing basilica of San Marco – sometime musical stomping ground of the Gabrielis and Monteverdi (some of whose music inevitably takes pride of place alongside lesser-known works by Hassler and Guami).
In the meantime, there's the warming tang of mulled wine and mince pies in the air: it's Christmas, and that means the traditional concerts at St James' Priory, in Bristol.
Always one of the classiest of yuletide presents, this year expect the gift that keeps giving.
Exultate Singers plat at St James' Priory, Bristol, on Saturday, December 14, at 7/45pm
