Somerset's Jos Buttler has been awarded an England increment contract for 2012-13.

The wicketkeeper-batsman, from Wedmore, qualifies for the award after representing his country ten times since the beginning of the contract period on October 1.

Buttler, 22, has played in six Twenty20 internationals and four ODIs, most recently against New Zealand on the current tour.

ECB national selector Geoff Miller said: “This award reflects the contribution Jos has made over the last five months in the shorter formats of the game for England and we congratulate him on his achievement.”
