Four Cases Somerset Rebels speedway riders received a financial boost prior to Friday’s meeting with Glasgow Tigers as Alex Davies, James Wright, Kyle Newman and Tom Perry all received cheques from the Somerset Riders’ Equipment Fund (SREF).

Davies and Wright were presented with £500 each while Newman and Perry both received £250 to go with funds they received earlier in the season from SREF.

“I think that I speak for the other three guys when I say that we were really bowled over to receive the money,” said Davies after the presentation.

“It is a fantastic gesture and one that we all really appreciate. SREF do a lot behind the scenes in raising money in order to help the riders and it means all the more to the guys known that the funds we receive ultimately come from the fans who support SREF in their fund-raising activities, so a big thank you to everyone.”
