Somerset Levels farmers get stuck in to help land attract wildlife

Farmers on the Somerset Levels are working on a nature project to make 1,600 acres kinder to wildlife, after encouragement from the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

This has included felling trees along ditches and leaving raised water levels during the winter for migratory birds.

Farmers are now being helped to apply for grants to carry out the necessary work.
