Originally created to replace the aging Highbridge & Taunton Livestock Markets, Junction 24 was spearheaded by Derek Mead, a stalwart of Farming in the region. As plans came to being, Derek, supported by his Daughter Katherine, drove the independent project to completion.

The Development not only included a replacement livestock auction centre, (which has now become one of the biggest and most successful in the South of England) but also a rural business hub and a dedicated conference/event centre.

For the last four years, as Sedgemoor Auction Centre @Junction 24 has proved itself invaluable and the businesses reputation as a cost effective and easily accessible conferencing and events venue has grown, the focus of attention has now been turned to the 2000 Capacity on site Arena known as "The Venue@J24".

As we welcome 2013 plans to take one step closer to becoming Somerset's finest event complex have now been announced by Junction24. "The Venue@J24" has already hosted acts including Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, Tinchy Strider and rock legends Feeder, yet 2013 looks like it could become one of the most exciting and varied for the business as Marketing and Events Manager Patch Jobson explains;

"Once we had made the decision to really push "The Venue" it didn't take long before the conversations with a great group of promoters, agents and event organisers began. The aim for the next twelve months and beyond is to bring some of the best names in business to "The Venue@J24". Plans are now in place to not only bring Live Music, but Comedy and Theatrical shows, and some truly creative events to Somerset, the likes of which may not have been
seen before."

In the first few months of 2013 you can expect appearances from South West singer/songwriter Adam Isaac, a unique Streetdance event, Cockney Legends Chas 'n' Dave, A Wild West Hoe Down Night and comedy from the freshest Edinburgh fringe Talent.

Alongside these initial events, "The Venue@J24" will also host the launch of a brand new stage show that enables anyone to "Walk on Stage!" to show off their talents and one of later in the year one the biggest shows this year for Somerset royalty, The Wurzels.

Combine the new plans with the already existing and popular Saturday & Sunday Farmers Markets, plus one of the biggest indoor car boot sales every Sunday and a collection of Lifestyle events including A Rural Living Show, Wedding Fayre, and a new Christmas Extravaganza Junction 24 is shaping up for a great year.

"I guess the final thing I can say" stated Patch, "is that to make sure no one misses out attending any of the events we have planned for 2013 it's advisable to either subscribe to our free Eletter at www.junction24ltd.co.uk or follow us on Facebook & Twitter.
