A Trowbridge man will next weekend complete a challenge that has seen him run three miles every day in 2013 in memory of a colleague.

Phil Halls, 37, from North Bradley, says he wasn't sure it was physically possible as he considers himself to be just an average fat bloke. Now, his "official" but not his actual last 5km (3-mile) run, will take place on Sunday, December 29, when he will run from Trowbridge to Dorothy House Hospice Care in Winsley.

He took on the challenge after the death of his work colleague, Jacob "Jake" Nott, in September 2012. Jake was cared for by Dorothy House. "I wanted to support those who had supported Jake," said Phil.

"I'm hoping friends and family will join me on the last leg on Sunday. Jake's four-year-old daughter will be with me on the last section from Avon Park"
