Blackadder star Rowan Atkinson celebrated his 59th birthday with a tuna sandwich in a West Country tea shop.
Mr Atkinson enjoyed the low key celebration on Monday with his daughter Lily at Corn Dolly in South Molton, Devon.
Corn Dolly waitress Hannah Wilks, 22, who served Mr Atkinson said: “It was nice to see him in the tea room.
“It was a great surprise, it made my Monday.
“He’s the most famous person to come into the Corn Dolly.”
Hannah said Atkinson appeared shy while enjoying a tuna sandwich, as Lily tucked into a quiche.
A fan recognised the Hollywood actor and asked for a photograph.
Atkinson politely declined but offered an autograph instead.
Lynda Warren, from Bishops Nympton, who was in the tea rooms at the time said: “I asked for a picture with my daughters and he said ‘I don’t do pictures but I’m happy to sign something’.
“He was very quiet and a bit reserved. I’ve never seen someone so high profile in South Molton.”
