A paper replica of the Olympic torch made by a Chard schoolboy is continuing its journey around the country.

Logan McKerrow’s creation has repeatedly sold on eBay with buyers money being donated to the charity, Let’s Hear it for Deaf Children and the torch then being relisted to raise more money.

After turning up in Shropshire last week, the torch is now with Karen Allard in Gillingham, Dorset.

She said: “I was looking on eBay at the price of torches and like most thinking wouldn’t it be nice to own a piece of Olympic history, but knowing deep down I would never being able to afford one.

“Then I came across this auction. This is an amazing story, amazing charity, amazing torch but also an amazing little boy and family who thought about helping others.”

Logan’s mum, Kerry said: “The whole family is so proud of him.”
