The Prince's Countryside Fund, a charity which strives to secure a sustainable future for the British countryside and wider rural economy, has announced a new investment of £575,000 in 12 valuable rural projects across the UK, including a project on Exmoor.
Founded by the Prince of Wales, the charity has already contributed £3.3 million in the three years since its inception. This latest round of investment is being allocated to projects and organisations which address key issues facing rural Britain, which include low farming incomes, rural isolation, lack of access to training and declining rural communities. One of the 12 rural projects which will benefit from the investment is North Devon based economic development company North Devon+. The organisation, which has been awarded a grant of £49,994, aims to regenerate communities and promote economic development in the local area.
