Local cricket: Openers Grove and Roach bat way to victory

A superb opening partnership between Huw Grove and Christopher Roach guided Brislington to an eight-wicket home win against Backwell Flax Bourton in the North Somerset Saturday Conference Division One.

Flax Bourton were bowled out for 149, with Neil Peacock the standout bowler for brislington with 3-13.

Grove (73) and Roach (61) then put on 141 as Brislington required just 21 overs to secure victory.

Wrington made 106-9 at Bath Hospitals, who reached their target with six wickets left.

In Division Two, an unbeaten 69 from Daniel Gerrish helped Keynsham to a four-wicket home triumph against Mells, who were bowled out for 159. Gerrish also enjoyed a good day with the ball, taking 4-18.

Shaun Todd starred for Old Park in their emphatic win against Lansdown.

Andrew Nowicki top-scored with 56 in Old Park's 227-6, before Todd took 6-30 as Lansdown were bowled out for 86.

Tom Hogarth produced a fine all-round display as Harptree Villages won by 11 runs at Bath.

The opening batsman struck 96 as his side made 198-7 off 40 overs. He then took two wickets as Bath were restricted to 187-7.

Phil Hogarth was the most successful bowler for Harptree with 3-19.
