PAULTON ROVERS 2 SHOLING 0

Paulton leapt up five places to 14th in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League after this win against fellow-strugglers Sholing.

It was a much-needed victory for Rovers, although they had to wait until midway through the second half before making the breakthrough.

With 66 minutes played, Ben Osman played a one-two with Craig Loxton before firing across the Sholing goalkeeper and into the far corner.

Just two minutes later, Paulton doubled their lead when Stuart Pearson marked his debut with a fine headed goal from Charlie Rich's corner.

Paulton visit Chippenham in round one of the Red Insure Cup tomorrow (7.45pm).
