A man who pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer had his sentencing adjourned when he appeared at Taunton Crown Court last week.
Ian Foster, 53, currently living at an address in Wardcliffe Road, Weymouth, has been ordered to return to court to be sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm against PC John Lang.
The assault incident took place on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
During a plea and case management hearing on Monday, January 14 the prosecution offered no evidence for two separate charges of arson with intent to endanger life and breach of a non-molestation order. No further action will be taken on these counts.
A fourth charge of assault by penetration on a woman aged over 13 during an incident in Yeovil on Wednesday, September 12, has also been discontinued.
Foster was released on bail subject to several conditions – to live and sleep at his address in Weymouth, to observe a daily curfew between the hours of 7pm and 6am, not to contact named witnesses in the case and not to enter Yeovil except to attend work for City Plumbing Supplies.
