A man faces jail for tormenting his ex-girlfriend by kicking, beating – and biting her dog.
Timothy Noonan, 31, hurled the pet across the room, kicked it while it slept and grabbed it by the throat in a series of attacks.
The man dished out similar treatment to his frightened partner, kicking her in the back, threatening to set fire to her car and telling her he hoped she'd die of cancer.
Drinker Noonan denied assault and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal but magistrates in Truro, Cornwall, found him guilty.
Chairman of the bench, Fiona Roberts told him: "I think it's very likely you could receive a custodial sentence, even though all options will be open."
