Wells MP Tessa Munt sets record with 500 constituency surgeries

A West Country MP is thought to have set a record for the number of 'surgeries' held by a Member of Parliament elected in 2010. Tessa Munt, MP for Wells, has conducted her 500th MP's surgery, in the village Post Office in Meare near Glastonbury, the equivalent of one every 2.7 days. When elected she made it her aim to be as accessible as possible to local people. She runs 11 surgeries each month in the main towns and villages across her rural patch, as well as making home visits.
