Dozens of Somerset schools will close today due to the snow that has fallen overnight.
Many schools waited to assess conditions this morning before making announcements by around 7am, while others took the decision to make closure announcements early.
This morning, early decisions were made to close Writhlington School in Radstock, Brookside Primary School in Street and Chew Stoke Church Primary School.
Bridgwater College will be closed to all pupils except those taking exams. Staff and students have been told to only make their way to the college if they are involved in an exam and it is safe to travel.
Westfield Academy in Yeovil is closed to all students except GCSE history exam candidates.
The Blue School in Wells is closed today, except for exams. Students involved are advised to arrive at 9.30am for a 10am start, and 12.30pm for a 1pm start.
The school said its planned Sixth Form guidance interviews for Year 11 students have been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Wadham School in Crewkerne is closed to all students not sitting exams, as is Frome Community College.
In North Somerset, Churchill Academy and Weston College are both closed to students not involved in exams and, in Bath, Ralph Allen School and Oldfield School are among the closures.
Sexey's School at Bruton announced its closure yesterday to help pupils who normally board at the school to travel home safely.
Norton Radstock College and Yeovil College also said that their campuses would not be open today due to the Met Office's severe weather warning in place, and Chew Valley School also decided to close last night.
