Charlie Griffin's header in the fifth minute of injury time earned Gloucester City a dramatic point at Oxford City.

The City substitute had cancelled out Bifemi Alofabi's 90th minute goal that looked like earning all three points for the hosts in a crazy finish.

Tom Winters' fantastic first-half strike put Oxford ahead but Griffin bundled home Scott Wilson's cross to level the scores before the incredible stoppage-time action.

On a soggy afternoon at Marsh Lane the wet surface caused havoc for the hosts as Matt Groves got in behind and flashed a teasing ball into the area that Adam Connolly almost latched onto. However, it was still the hosts who scored first as former Tigers defender Paul Stonehouse slammed a 25-yard effort off the woodwork and the rebound fell to Winters who curled the ball into the bottom corner.

After the break the Tigers' persistence paid off with 10 minutes to go as two of boss Tim Harris' substitutes combined, Griffin and Scott Wilson, with the former tucking home the latter's cross.

But, against the run of play Darren Pond then played in Alofabi who rounded keeper Mike Green to score what Oxford thought was the winner. But, the scoring wasn't over as Griffin headed in to steal a point for the Tigers.
