Meet Cheddar Gorge’s two newest tour guides – Jedward.

John and Edward Grimes tried to cram a millennia of history into their heads at the beauty spot on Tuesday and yesterday while filming Jedward’s Big Adventure for CBBC.

The show will air in December and every week the pair visit a different place in the UK.

Jedward said: “It’s an amazing experience filming this show and can’t wait to visit more of the UK’s coolest visitor spots.

“We will be learning all of the facts about each place we visit, and we get to wear the craziest costumes.

“Watch out, Planet Jedward is turning tour guide once more! It’s going to be Jepic!”

Word of the twins’ visit drew fans to the gorge, one couple coming all the way from Wales to see the duo in action.

Jedward’s Big Adventure is a five-part CBBC series and other venues visited by the pair include the Orkney Islands in Scotland, the Duxford Imperial War Museum in Cambridgeshire and the Thames and Greenwich in London.

The pair have 24 hours to learn from the experts everything there is to know about the history of the tourist spot before unleashing their facts on to unsuspecting sightseers.

The winning team will have an awesome prize – but there’s a forfeit for one of the twins.

Asked if Jedward had fully absorbed the history of Cheddar Gorge, a Longleat spokesman said that remained to be seen as they would put their knowledge into practice the next day “but the signs are encouraging”.

The gorge is no stranger to outlandish costumes from cavemen to Lord Bath himself but Jedward still raised some eyebrows with their wardrobe choice.
