Issa is already a firm favourite with both Kate and Pippa Middleton, with the Duchess of Cambridge even having worn one of Issa’s exquisite pieces for her official engagement photos. The beautiful sapphire number, of course, went on to completely sell out around the country, as is now expected of any item of clothing the Princess chooses to wear.
However, having been one of the stand out shows at London Fashion Week, it’s fairly clear that it isn’t just the more fashion conscious members of the Royal family that appreciate the London based label’s collections. Although Issa may be best known for it’s luxe dresses and flattering cuts, the SS13 collection brought a fair few surprises along with it.
Amongst the more typical Issa pieces, there were a huge number of bright and vibrant floral items that have got everybody talking. Maxi dresses, oversized floral detail, kimonos, and even the occasional toucan all featured in the new collection. It seems that there is a definite rainforest theme running throughout these exciting new designs, and fashionistas are already taking bets on which of the dresses Kate will favour on her next trip to a warm climate.
Arguably, these bold new designs are largely influenced by Daniella Helayel’s own roots. The Creative Director of the brand originates form Rio de Janeiro and has previously stated that the sensational nature found in Brazil is reflected in her work, as she attempts to reflect the “effortless elegance” of her home country in her collections.
There is no doubt that Daniella’s new Brazilian inspired collection has been well received, and the show itself with its “Garden of Eden” theme has certainly got people talking about the influential brand. The models, which had low key feminine make up, even had orchids in their hair, in order to continue with the nature inspired theme. Is there anything that Issa haven’t thought of?
The Editeur have loved watching London Fashion Week unfold this year, and are thrilled that Issa’s new collection is filled with such fun and variety. The Chester based designer clothing boutique stocks an edited Issa collection, as well as a number of other designer clothing brands including Alice by Temperley. If you’re as excited about LFW as they are, then be sure to pop in in order to have a chat about your favourite runway shows this year, and maybe to update your own wardrobe with some more Autumn/Winter friendly items.
