Is the Wells and District Skittles League a threat to the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran?

Iranian computer hackers hijacked the league website, www.wells-skittles-league.co.uk on Friday evening, and it was still being restored to its former glory on Monday morning.

League secretary Chris Arnold, said: "I had a bit of a surprise when I opened the web page to find a message from Iranian hackers called the Ashiyane Digital Security Team. To me it looked like someone trying to promote Iran but I don't know why they chose the skittle league website to hack – there are no state secrets hidden in the league tables."

This is the second time the site has been hacked in the last few years, although the first time is believed to have been a friendly hack designed to make skittles league members laugh.

Ashiyane Digital Security Team is an Iranian hack and security team founded in early 2002 and linked to the Revolutionary Guard.

Ashiyane members are motivated by an ideology supporting the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolution and they target the enemies of the regime for attack.
