Injected roadkill may not be so appetising

Motorists who want to dine on roadkill are being warned by police to make sure they are not risking poisoning. It follows reports about Plymouth surgeon Dr Austin Hunt, who says he regularly picks up badgers and deer. Devon and Cornwall Police's wildlife crime officer, Sergeant Ryan Canning, said: "Police may well have been called to the scene of a collision of a vehicle with a deer and, if the creature was still alive and in great distress or pain, we would call out a veterinarian and have it put to sleep with a lethal injection."
