The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) is attending the Royal Bath and West Show to help local farmers, land managers and environmentalists understand how the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) will impact them.

The agency will be raising awareness of the new CAP schemes at the event, which is held at the Royal Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet.

Under the new CAP, farming, wildlife, rural businesses and the wider economy in England are set to receive £15 billion in funding from 2014 to 2020.

RPA customer director Justin Chamberlain said: "The countdown to CAP reform has begun, and the first information is now available."
