Headless cow washes up on town's beach

A headless cow has been removed from a North Somerset beach after it washed up there yesterday morning. The carcass was spotted lying on mud near Clevedon's Marine Lake by a passer-by who alerted the council. Contractors removed the animal with a winch. A council spokesman said: "It is quite unusual for something as large as this to be washed up at Clevedon." The animal was taken to a waste disposal plant in Weston-super-Mare
