MATCH REPORT: Robinsons D 3, Mid-Somerset B 2

Mid-Somerset B gave Robinsons D a close contest despite having just ten players on Saturday.

Robinsons started the day three points behind fourth-placed Mids and it was even contest despite the hosts’ one-man advantage.

Mids set out to play positive hockey but Robinsons scored two breakaway goals to earn a 2-0 lead at half time.

The visitors restructured to an even more attacking formation, which at first did not work as Robinsons scored a third goal.

However, Mids did not give up and, led by good midfield play from Ollie Warren and youngster Joe Marks, they gradually got into the game.

From a good move down the right, Warren scored from just inside the circle. Better was to follow as his through ball sent Lewis Orr through to smash the ball high into net for his first goal for the club.

Mids attacked for the rest of the game but the equaliser would not come despite a brave performance. However, they remain in third place on goal difference.
