When two members of a group who dubbed themselves Great Balls of Fur to go charity rallying around the world in fake fur covered vehicles decided to get married, the stag night was bound to be like no other.
It turned into a stag weekend, dubbed Chariots of Fur in tribute to British Olympic heroes, and saw the friends touring Somerset in a fake fur covered mini bus complete with horns, trying to break eccentric Guinness World Records.
Clad in traditional 1924 Olympic sports kit the records they attempted to break included, fastest 100m on a space hopper, most number of hamburgers eaten in three minutes, and fastest time for eight people to wrap another in newspaper, which they attempted on Cathedral Green, Wells, on Saturday.
The bride-to-be Cate Arrenburg, will wed Charlie Baddeley in December. Romance bloomed in the back of a fur-covered fire engine in Mongolia when Cate’s car suffered gear box failure.
The friends have strong ties with the military and the Stag Weekend is raising money for Help For Heroes.
