A car was driven through the rear wall of a garage at a home in Taunton this morning.
Fire crews were called to a property in the Highgrove area of the town at 11.15am after reports that a boiler may have been damaged in the accident.
On arrival, firefighters from Taunton confirmed that the driver at the house had got out of the car unharmed, and had isolated the boiler before calling the emergency services.
After checking that the gas supply was isolated, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said crews made the area safe using a winch and props for the damaged building.
A building surveyor was also requested to assess the extent of the damage, the service added.
