Former Hereford United chief Martin Foyle is relishing his new challenge of managing Southport, having joined them earlier in the week.
Foyle parted company with Hereford in March after 18 months in charge at Edgar Street.
"I am delighted to have the job and seeing where we can take Southport," said Foyle, who has also managed Port Vale, York City and Northwich Victoria.
"I have a good chat with the Southport chairman and he wants the club run properly.
"What I will be looking for are young hungry lads that are going to be fully committed playing for Southport."
During his tenure at Hereford the Bulls finished in sixth place in the Conference in his first season.
Following Foyle's departure Hereford appointed Peter Beadle as caretaker manager who guided them to safety in their last eight games in the Skrill Premier Division.
