Footballer's rape trial set back by a month

A West football star given one last chance by his club after he apologised for his behaviour last week has had his date to stand trial for rape put back a month. Swindon Town striker Nile Ranger is accused of assaulting a woman in a hotel in Newcastle and will stand trial on Tyneside with the case beginning on February 24, not during January, as originally planned. The footballer denies the allegation and will plead "not guilty". He was signed by Swindon Town at the start of the season and was initially saw some success.
