No part of Somerset will escape the heavy rain forecast to sweep across the South West tomorrow.

The Met Office's severe weather warning initially suggested that southern areas of the county would see up to 30mm of rainfall between midday on Thursday and 5pm on Friday.

The forecaster has now revised its yellow warning to cover the whole of Somerset, and is warning the public to prepare for the possibility of surface water and flooding near rivers.

Persistent and heavy rain will fall over the county tomorrow, moving further north and north east on Thursday night. Brighter and showery conditions will follow on Friday.

Up to 30mm of rain is expected to fall while the warning is in place, but the Met Office is warning that as much as 60mm could fall over higher ground.
