Firefighters cut casualty out of car

Fire fighters had to cut a casualty out of a car following crash near Wedmore in the Cheddar Valley this evening.

Two appliances, one from Cheddar and one from Burnham on Sea attended, along with a fire service officer.

The crash happened on the Cheddar Road at Clewer, around a mile north of Wedmore. Two vehicles were involved in the crash which took place at around 7pm.

Fire crews found  one person still trapped inside one of the vehicles.  They removed the roof of the car with hydraulic cutting equipment to assist paramedics in safe removal of casualty.
