Paulton Rovers were unable to build on an early goal as Hungerford Town came from behind to win 2-1 in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.

Rovers defender Marcus Mapstone headed the visitors into a third-minute lead, heading home from Craig Loxton’s corner kick.

Second-placed Hungerford drew level midway through the first half courtesy of Luke Hopper and, four minutes into the second half, the hosts went ahead when Jon Boardman hooked a corner across goal for Bradley Gray to convert.

Gray’s day went sour later on when he was sent off for an apparent use of the elbow, but the visitors were unable to profit.

Paulton are away to Merthyr tomorrow (7.45pm).
