A decision on whether to allow potentially the country's biggest solar farm to be built by the A303 near Ilminster has been deferred by South Somerset District Council.
Councillors sitting at the Tatworth Memorial Hall on Wednesday, September 19 made the decision after a one and a half hour debate which saw several residents speak in opposition.
SolarCentury Ltd has applied to extend the existing five-acre solar array at Parsonage, Dillington to nearly 50 acres, adding 40,800 panels.
A decision will be made at a future district council meeting.
A full report of the meeting will be in the Western Gazette out on Thursday, September 27.
