A Doctor Who fan is turning heads in his Wiltshire town after he turned a humble mobility scooter into a 'working Dalek' and took to the roads to help fight crime. Nigel Chivers normally works as a Cotswold drystone waller in Corston, north Wiltshire, and was given the scooter by a friend for the project. The 41-year-old claims he did it for his ten-year-old daughter Anna – he also fitted a Tardis in her bedroom – and the red machine took to the streets of Corston this week for the first time. Its exterminating gun is actually a water pistol, and its roving eye can move too, powered by the motor from a photocopier. The Dalek has now been out in Corston to help volunteers from the community who have been given a police speed camera gun to catch errant drivers.
