Porky pies and tall tales will be rewarded in a unique contest held in Somerton next week.
The West's Best Liar competition aims to unearth imaginative fibs and tall stories told by local people - all for a good cause.
Anyone can enter their most convincing whopper in the light-hearted contest organised by the Langport and Somerton Rotary Club, at the Edgar Hall on Saturday, November 24 from 7.30pm.
The evening's entertainment will conclude with two hours of rock and roll music from local band Nevertheless.
There will also be a raffle, snacks and a bar.
All proceeds from the event will go towards local charity projects.
Tickets are £10 and are available from the Halfway House in Pitney, or F J Scrivens butchers in Langport.
For more information contact Luke Brooker on 07561 402758 or email thewestbestliar@hotmail.co.uk.
