One of Somerset's oldest carnival clubs faces an uncertain future after it revealed it needed a new home and new members to keep going.

Wills Carnival Club is one of a handful left that enter the motionless tableau category of Somerset's famous carnival circuits, but needs a new base to build its cart next year.

The club was formed in Bridgwater 63 years ago and its chairman Paul Barker said it was hard to recruit new members as the club doesn't have a base.

It faced a similar problem in 2013, but got a temporary home last year and this year at East Huntspill. That runs out for 2015, and it needs to secure somewhere now.

"Memberships are dwindling because nobody wants to join a club with no home," said Mr Barker.

Anyone who might have a place to offer the club should call co-ordinator Scott Gibbs on 07531 432782.
