MATCH REPORT: Frome 1st XV 30, Walcot 1st XV 10

Frome 1st XV made it five wins from their last six Southern Counties South matches with a bonus-point victory over Walcot on Saturday.
The home side started strongly and scored inside the first ten minutes when hooker Bibby found skipper Phil Meenan from a lineout and the Frome pack powered over the tryline, with second-row Steve Randall getting his first try for the 1st XV.
Frome missed the conversion but continued to dominate possession. However, resolute Walcot defence and the hosts' overeagerness saw several chances go to waste.
Walcot crept back into the game in the closing stages of the first half and continued to frustrate Frome after the break until the home forwards found a way through as Meenan picked up from the base of a five-metre scrum and touched down for the try.
The conversion was again missed but another try soon followed in similar fashion to the first of the day. The Frome pack drove towards the line and, after the maul was pulled down, Meenan went over for his second try.
The next ten minutes belonged to Walcot as they scored a penalty before a well-taken breakaway try and conversion reduced Frome's lead to five points.
However, the hosts did not panic and a sweeping move from inside their own half ended with winger Steve Morris side-stepping his way over the line to secure the bonus point.
Prop Bowler also got on the scoreboard as the pack drove over from a lineout but the best try of the game was saved until last.
With Frome in their own half, the accurate Bibby found his man in the lineout once again. The ball was spun wide and, with dummy runners creating holes in the Walcot defence, fly-half Norris picked out Ames-Reddin in a well-worked move.
The winger burst through the gap and outpaced the covering defence. With half the pitch still to go, he then showed a further injection of pace and stepped his way round the Walcot full-back to score in the corner.
Frome have a weekend off from league action before hosting Oakmeadians on March 2.
